Have no idea what exactly struck me since early Monday morning on the way to work.. was alright at work on Sunday & had an ok dinner at home to celebrate Mothers' Day. Later into the night on Sunday tho', had felt a lil funny in the head & was feeling a lil colder than usual. Didn't think much of it so just popped 2 panadol tabs, took a jacket to bed & covered warmly, using the fan instead of the aircon. Woke up Monday still feeling a lil funny in the head and stomach & was now feeling really hot. Got changed for work, had 2 bananas for bfast & made my way to the train station.
In the train however, I started feeling constricted in my chest & found breathing kinda hard. I took it as being too crowded on the train so I shifted to stand clear the door & everytime the doors slid open, I would struggle to grasp for air. The whole journey make me feel suffocated & I thought once I got out at Newton, all would be fine but boy, was I wrong. At Newton, I was wheezing so badly & found it hard to walk properly, I sat down & called for cover for my afternoon classes because sth in me told me that I wouldn't manage to pull thru' until 6pm. I then made my way to Turf & hoped that I would get better once I was near greenery & in a bigger open space. Once at Turf, I was all pale in colour by now & feeling freezingly cold. I struggled thru' my 4 classes & during breaks had to run to the toilet to throw up. Finally after classes ended, I made my way home.
Back home, I had no appetite at all, just curled in bed with a jacket on & the quilt thrown over me.. 2 hours later, I was sweating profusely & my skin felt cold & clammy. By then, my dad called up & told me to get changed to see the doctor. I was told by the doctor that it was some viral infection & was given meds for digestion, giddiness & fever. The minute I got back home, I could only collaspe in bed til abt 7 plus in the evening. By then I was going thru a swinging back & forth phrase of hot & cold flushes & my mouth tasted cottony & stale. I struggled to get dinner in my stomach because I had to take my meds but could only manage about 8 spoonfuls of rice in soup. Even then, I felt like barfing after every spoonful taken in. As I waited 30 mins later to take my meds, I could feel my stomach insides going in all directions & forced myself to not run for the toilet.
Even showering was painful as the water felt really cold, even tho' it was already at the hottest temp! Once all was done, I slumped back into bed at around 10am. The next morning, I woke up at around 9.30am to get some bfast in my stomach so that I could take my meds.. I tried taking in 2 soft-boiled eggs but could only manage 5 spoonfuls. I had a little ribena as well & then had my meds. 5 minutes later, I was running for the toilet & threw up everything I had just eaten. This was so crazy & I had a class to teach at the centre at 4.45pm. After cleaning up, I went back to lie down, still having hot & cold flushes & awoke again at 1.45pm. This time I got dressed for work & made myself a cup of instant mushroom soup. Once againn, I could only manage taking in half a cup & then made me way out. The journey to work seemed to take forever & by now, I could feel my stomach growling but couldn't take in anything solid. Stopping at 7-11, I bought myself some orange juice.Teaching really took a lot of effort & I was wiped out just after an hr & a half. Not to also mention the number of runs I had before I left for work.. it was as if taking the meds made it all worse.
I decided to see another doctor after work & as prescribed another set of meds.. in addition, I was to stop taking the earlier set of meds, avoid milk, sweet stuff, spicy or oily food. Back home I had half a bowl of porridge with some meat & took the meds.. half an hr later, half of my dinner was in the toilet bowl & 40 minutes later, the remaining half was also in the bowl. The whole I just had half a cup of soup & orange juice tt stayed in but wasn't even hungry.. hardeehaha.. It was just painful for me. Frm Monday til last night I think I must have made a record breaking no. of runs to the loo as well as a record breaking no. of throw ups.
Now it's Day 3 & frm the time I woke up at 9.30am til now (2.15pm) I've already been to the toilet 5 times.. thankfully the barfing has stopped, but the movements in my stomach are still up & at it.. I can just feel & hear 'em. For bfast, I had 6 pieces of chicken biscuits & water & just now for lunch I had half a bowl of plain porridge. Now I'm carving to have a lil sweet drink to parch my throat, but I can't, doc's orders.. water doesn't seem to do it, it kinda tastes weird. Sigh.. I'm just hoping tmr will be better.. seriously, 3 days of runs & throwing up isn't fab at all.
